Pop Art (popular art) is a visual art movement after World War II, which is derived from abstract expressionism. The term "pop art" was first used by British art critic - Lawrence Alloway in "Architectural Digest" in 1952 to describe the images that illustrate the post-war consumerism that drew from the wealth of materialism.
Emergence of pop art was influenced by consumption nature of Western civilization, especially the mechanisms of advertising. The style drew from surrealism , comic art and naturalism, sometimes presenting everyday objects with meticulous accuracy moving them to the canvas. It stands out because of the limitless creative freedom, which aims to illustrate the big civilization and its mass culture.
